(no subject)

Was typing away on the computer this afternoon, playing several cd's including Neil Young's Harvest, a real classic. When this song came up, I knew I had the lyrics somewhere on the hard disc. As one of my LJ-friends is there at the moment, this one goes out to her.

Alabama - Neil Young

Oh Alabama
The devil fools
with the best laid plan.
Swing low Alabama
You got spare change
You got to feel strange
And now the moment
is all that it meant.

Alabama, you got
the weight on your shoulders
That's breaking your back.
Your Cadillac
has got a wheel in the ditch
And a wheel on the track

Oh Alabama
Banjos playing
through the broken glass
Windows down in Alabama.
See the old folks
tied in white ropes
Hear the banjo.
Don't it take you down home?

Alabama, you got
the weight on your shoulders
That's breaking your back.
Your Cadillac
has got a wheel in the ditch
And a wheel on the track

Oh Alabama.
Can I see you
and shake your hand.
Make friends down in Alabama.
I'm from a new land
I come to you
and see all this ruin
What are you doing Alabama?
You got the rest of the union
to help you along
What's going wrong?

Hein de Kort - Eikeltjes 3, Sexles (01-089)

Another one by De Kort, I've got to catch up. I think I'm nearly up to scratch again. Loads of adolescents with glasses, pimples, parents who don't understand them, a desperate longing for sex and a strange sense of humour.

De Kort never disappoints me.

Friends

I have been scratched by one of my friends. I'm not that bothered actually, as I have been considering cleaning up my own list as well. I have decided that I enjoy the idea of LJ a lot, but at the end of the day (to use one footy-cliche) it is my journal. So I would like to read entries by some people who don't want me as a friend. The other way around could be happening as well I guess. This is not kindergarten where you go up to someone and ask them to be your friend if they want you to be theirs.

And for the first time I have been blocked by someone as well. Perhaps I should take a course in effective stalking, I know there are some experts out there. I don't think I was offensive actually. We disagreed, as we had once before, why block me out just because of that? I love discussions with other people here, it is one of the best things on LJ. Several of my LJ-friends have got opinions I can't agree with. Which is why I enjoy reading them!

The world can be strange sometimes...
