Perhaps it is because we are foreign? I quite like the idea though, it gives us voters a bigger choice, the parties have to take a clearer stand, they are not just left or right anymore, they have to define their ideas. Apart from the distance between politics and their voters (we have not got a senator per state or a MP per county), I think it is the most pure form of representational democracy.
