Back at work
school has started again, so I'm back at work. Weird having to get up early again, luckily no lessons in the morning, which gave me an extra hour in bed and some time to adjust to working again when I arrived.
Next week another week of exams, so the last preparations this week. Plenty of work, just did half an hour of photocopying..
Now it's back home to eat Boerenkool!

2. Hey Gerben, today I got the (rather lovely smelling) package you sent me. It was soooooooo nice! I am listening to the cassette now and think I will be still listening to it sometime next week. It makes me really, really happy, and I've appreciated having the "Sing along and learn Dutch" text that goes with it. Have you actually published it, or sent it out? If you need some customer feedback for that to happen, or maybe one or two small English corrections, I would be glad to write you something-
3. I've had a good look at the footy book too. I feel that it is an extremely good omen that I understand the ENTIRE first sentence. ("Het mooie van een nieuw seizoen is dat alles nog mogelijk is." WOO HOO!) Is there a boy on the cover we should know? Is this the book you were still waiting for your copy of?
4. I tried the test and am not so bad. Still too chicken to try my Dutch on you or Jarg, but maybe that day will come.
5. Speaking of Dutch schools: I have just sent an application to this one:
http://www.laarenberg.nl/
which had advertised for a German teacher. I am sure that I have NO chance, for a hundred reasons, but it was fun, and a bit of a practice for some more applications to come.
How is teacher's college going this year? Are you hoping to work at a different school next year? Hope you are okay. I am totally in your debt, again, after that lovely package.. Any wishes from Canada?

2. Parcel smelling? Of what? No, I never published it, never tried either. If I'd think it would be publishable, I'd pick other songs and look at the booklet first. Can't be bothered. It was a useful present for my then girlfriend from Liverpool. I have given it to several people since, I doubt if anybody is really using it though.
3. No, I wasn't waiting for this one. Still have 80something copies left in a box. Bad salesman me. And yes, if you look well on the cover (back), you could try to recognize the author.
4. What did you do at 1? Is that not trying? And nearly perfect as well.
5. Good luck, I'm curious if you've got a chance. There is a huge shortage of teaching staff in this country. You might be lucky.
6. Teacher college? I'm worse than my own students, haven't done a thing for months, apart from attending. Don't think I'll work at a different school soon, perhaps in a couple of years. And as to the last question: Whenever you feel like you've found something I'd like to see on my shelf, surprise me!

Sterkte, kus.

Nee, nog niet. Strijken is geloof ik niet echt een veld waarin ik wil uitblinken. Is alweer 17 jaar geleden dat ik dat voor het laatst deed.
