(no subject)

I just remember a nice banner I saw last week in Amsterdam: War is terrorism with a bigger budget.

I disagree, war and terrorism are completely different

So where is the difference? Was Che Guevara a freedom fighter or a terrorist? What about Simon Bolivar? Piet Hein? Charlemagne?

terroristm is most not only targeted against military, but more often against civilian targets with the intention of spreading terror in order to achieve goals, that's different from war with armies who clash.

Grow up. In war you do exactly that what is necessary to demotivate the enemy. The last time it was two armies clashing was WW1, after that it has become a mean battle with civilian victims. Remember Rotterdam, Dresden, Hirosjima..

civilian victims, yes, but terrorism is mostly only directed at civilian victims, modern warfare is i.m.o still not.

So who was the Enola Gay aiming for when it flew over Japan?

Is the IRA who aim mainly at British soldiers a terrorist movement?
The ETA usually aims for politicians or others with a lot of power. Terrorism?

To me it is terrorism if you choose to invade a country whenever it suits you.
