Doubts

Vazquez against Maddux on the fifth. I've got both in one of my 5 teams. Which one do I play. Or both? Or neither?

Well, you play Vazquez no matter what. The only reason I would consider benching Maddux is because he's been a little rusty lately.

I've nearly had it with him and Glavine. Considering they were my keepers, I could have chosen better ones, even at the pile of crap I had last year.

I honestly thought those two would be better for you. I think that for '04 we should make the keepers optional. So if you don't have anyone keeper-worthy on your team, you can just get draft picks like our new teams did this year. That way a team like yours wouldn't be stuck in a hole again. I know you weren't too fond of the keeper idea in the first place. But if nothing else, you should be in decent shape for next year. I see at least three guys (Delgado, Matos, Smoltz) that I would consider keeping if they were on my team.

Hindsight is always 20/20. I see a lot of moves that I should have done, but didn't. You will do better next year, I'm sure.

I'm okay with the idea. I think we even had the opportunity not to keep anyone. I should have kept Andruw I guess. Delgado and Smolz are two of my favorites anyway and I picked up Matos only as a free agent last month. I'm content with this season, stuck in the middle, yet still within reach of the third.

What I don't like about keepers is that I do not have a chance of drafting the top 20 players full stop. That way the previous season always influences what happens next.
