Salvador

20 hours by bus it took us to get here. The first half of them no problem. Daytime, nice views, pleasant roads, good driver, comfy chair, enough breaks.

The second half, the idea suddenly didn't seem to good anymore. Dark, hence no views. The seats didn't sit as comfortable anymore. The new driver seemed Ayrton Senna reincarnated and the road turned out to be terrible. No sleep, just a bit of dozing and arriving here at 4.30 am.

Yet it is worth it. Salvador is a beautiful city. Plenty of nice and old cobbled streets with colonial houses in bright colours alongside. Typical local music everywhere, a pleasure to walk around. If it wasn't for street sellers hassling you every second step, it would have been perfect.

We've found ourselves a nice room with a balcony overlooking a nice square, so these days will not be a problem.

Ayrton Senna was a formula 1 racer from Brasil, who died in a crash a few years ago.
