Second look (31)

It is time to give presents. In the Netherlands Sinterklaas will be celebrating his birthday tomorrow, in a lot of countries Santa Claus will be arriving soon. Not in most Latin countries. Children will have to wait until the Three Kings have arrived, january 6th. This also means that last minute shopping reaches a peak the day before. I was in Avenida Duarte in Santo Domingo the day before once. It seems a madhouse. It is worse. All warehouses and shops are packed. The road as well. No taxi can be found. People move the hugest presents on public transport or on the back of a moped. A day later many children must have had the best day of the year.

I like chaos.

Is it similar in D.F.?

Absolutely.

Sometimes parents even sneak out around 12.00 or 1 in the morning, as the shops have last minute offers, like "Only for ten minutes! This and that toy half the price!" and everyone rushes to get it LOL

Must be fun to watch if you're an outsider and an observer like me.
