I'm tired. I've only got myself to blame. I know I did a lot of work, but I should just take more rest. Don't do as much next to work. Now I'm battling to make the weekend. Last night before midnight I was planning to go to bed. Unluckily the only thing worth watching on tv was on at about that time. With my intense curiousity bugging me to check my e-mail before bedtime and finally my urge to read before actually going to sleep. Again it was nearly two o' clock when I switched of the lights. The alarmclock hits me harder every morning.

I'm going to watch the speedskating on tv now. Last important races of the season, world championships. I missed a few distances this afternoon, while still in school. Last races of the 5km coming up.

What speedskating is that? Is it short-track or the conventional long-track? I really get into that short-track during every Winter Olympics.

long track. I can imagine short track is popular, it is more spectacular. Long track is fairer though. You compete on time, same distance. Not nearly as many falls, but a good competition. The American skaters did well on the 5km today. Still, that meant 5th place was best for them. Doesn't really count in American sports does it..

That's really about as well as we can do.

Speed skating is one sport where I prefer to watch the "flash" over the fairness. In most competitions, I like things to be as fair as possible. I realize that short track is inherently unfair (and has quite a bit of luck involved) but I still like to watch it.

Untrue. Derek Parra was one of the stars last year, won gold and silver on the Olympics. In the after Olympic season he is not as good, but who can blame him. The guy who came fifth was very good at skeelers, only started skating last year. To come fifth that soon means he is a talent. Watch for Chad Hedrick in the next winter Olympics.
