Man on fire
Mar. 13th, 2005 11:58 pmI do not do movie reviews, but sometimes after a movie I do need to discuss some things. Yolanda rented a movie last night and we sat through it together. Our perception was completely different. She really enjoyed the movie, I thought it was utterly crap. To not spoil her fun, I didn't continue the discussion. But perhaps someone has seen the movie and can help me answer some questions.
1. Why did Denzel Washington speak Spanish to Americans and English to Mexicans on several occasions, or switched languages within one conversation?
2. Why did he tell the kid to run, instead of just telling it to go back inside to her piano teacher. It would have made the risk of kidnapping much smaller?
3. Why did he try to kill himself and then never continued that track?
4. How come the smallest kid is the fastest swimmer and the slowest starter. Shouldn't it be the other way around?
5. Why did they suggest a troubled past, yet never showed any evidence for it?
6. Why does nobody think it is strange that revenge is a normal thought? To me revenge is the opposite of civilization.
7. Why does he walk to his opponents in the end of the movie, he could have just left when he had the opportunity..
8. Why does the father kill himself, even though he had the opportunity to rescue himself?
9. Why did they need a pincode to obtain account information?
10. Why does everyone praise a movie I couldn't stand?
