Seems an ordinary helicopter at first. To me it didn't. Apart from the fact that the peer it was on, was easily accesible for everyone, the helicopter had a story. It hadn't worked for months, I was told. It is the only one on the island of Sint Maarten/Saint Martin. The police couldn't afford the fuel, therefore it couldn't be used.
Not that the situation was any better when it was used. Stories about a beer stop in a field near a bar were consistent. As were the rumours about helicopters spying on tourists on beaches and even on higher floors in luxury hotels. I don't know which stories to believe, but who cares, they are fun.
When I had heard all these stories and suddenly saw it standing in Marigot, I thought it deserved a picture.
