Watching speedskating means writing times. Every single athlete, every single lap. 5000m is 12 and a half times round the oval, 13 times to write down. I have written down all of them, 28 speedskaters who competed. It makes watching so much more fun.

Yet somehow I feel that I cannot really explain this phenomenon to an outsider.
