Dougie Brimson – Top dog (07-038)

The Top Dog is an important man in the crew. It takes years to get to his position, but to be respected (or feared) amongst friends and enemies is worth something. One could also use that position and start a company. A security firm. And because one knows a lot of useful characters for that business, the firm shall thrive. A once in a lifetime opportunity suddenly arises. Do the security for your own club. Being paid to control the crowds and watch the game you have been paying for for decades, who could miss that chance?

Obviously life isn’t always that simple. One cannot be member of the crew and in the meantime be in charge of the stadium. And being friends is one thing, being work partners another one. And where is the border between doing your job and breaking the law, when security is your thing? How do you know if you’ve gone to far?

Read this book when I went to London with my football team, thematic reading certainly is fun sometimes. Brimson is the authority if it comes to hooligan literature, this book only confirms his position.
