Salman Rushdie – Oost, west (07-073)

Rushdie is a brilliant novelist, so I’ve been told. Because even though the Satanic verses and Shalimar are both on my bookshelf, I haven’t read them yet. If my memory serves me well, I have read one other book by the Indian-British author.

Travel stories. From the East and from the West. The best stories imho certainly are the ones from the east. The one about Columbus (west) is incomprehensible. Short stories, not really travel actually, more impressions from certain parts. Mini-portraits of people that could exist, not only in the brain of Rushdie.

Some day (soon) I should read one of his novels. I really should.
