mmm... did you have any contacts here in Chile or did you just take off with a Lonely Planet guide (or similar)? I agree, 3 1/2 days is too little time; if I'd stumbled across your lj earlier, while you were still here, I could've told you not to spend more that a day in Santiago. I would've sent you to the Cajon del Maipo for half a day (it's a small town in the mountains 1 1/2 hours from Santiago)
