Work is not all bad. Not at all. On saturday I will be leaving for a trip to Turkey. 4 students will be competing in different competitions, all hotel-catering-tourism related. Something like 50 schools from all over Europe will be going to the south of Turkey. 2 of my colleagues and myself will be accompanying and coaching the students.
At first I considered this a nice opportunity to do a bit of travelling next to the programme, now that I did get the programme, I have changed my mind. From sunday morning early until wednesday night late, there will be no free time at all, apart from a few hours of sleep. Not bad at all, tiresome perhaps, but can I complain with a guided tour, several opportunities to talk to teachers from the same area from different countries, all meals included, several parties as well?
On thursday we couldn't get a flight home. This means we will 'have to' stay another day in the 5 star resort we are staying at. I don't think that is punishment. Nor do I think it luxury after the busy days.
I do like the perks of my job ;-)
