I won my hockey league. And I'm not happy with it. In the play offs I was happy to make the final, the winner of the regular season was much better than everyone else. The final, 2 weeks instead of the 1 during regular matches, was exciting, it was a close call. He lead 5-4 going into the last day. On the last day I grabbed the one category that had been undecisive. So 5-5. End of season. No winner. Or two winners. But when I log in, I see that I have won the final. I have won the league. This is not fair. When the final ends in a draw, they should look back at regular season. Or find a different tiebreak, not just tell someone he won, because in alfabetical order I prevail. Shame on you Yahoo!

I almost did the same thing in a baseball league last summer. I thought I won via a tie breaker, but then Yahoo re-ran some of the stats the next day and I won fair and square. In that case, I was the #3 team and my opponent was by far the #1 team. But my opponent was livid when he found out that I won by tie breaker.

Fantasy playoffs, in general, are a weird thing.

I can't see any tiebreaker anywhere. Just plain 5-5 and then my team name comes up as league winner. Which is too bad given the fact that I only know 1 of my players and even then got him through a trade. I didn't deserve the win, don't want it therefore. I only want to win leagues I feel confident in (NBA,MLB, Cycling). The others are for fun.

Next year I will have to participate in a winners league?

If it's a public league, then you have the option of doing a winners league. I don't think it's mandatory. Some day, I want to enter a public sports league, just so I can win it (ha!) and join a winners league the next year. But some of the people in those leagues scare me a bit.

It is public, so I'll probably choose not to next year. How can people on a computer elsewhere in the world actually scare you?

Well, they scare me in the sense that I doubt it would be a positive fantasy experience. I think a lot of people sign up for public leagues and then abandon their teams. That makes for a very boring fantasy season. Plus, if I don't know anybody, they might not want to trade with me. You know how I feel about trades!

But if people do not abandon their teams, I'm mediocre at best in Football and Hockey leagues. This way I still have a chance. And I don´t mind trading, but this one guy in a public league has now at least send me 15 trade offers since the draft, not one of them was taken into consideration, I always lose out something. Either Key positons or star players. That way trading isn´t fun either.
