Oh.. I didn't. I had a very demanding day. That's the only way I could sleep in that long.

I remember when I managed to sleep until 1 during the weekends. Nowadays I'm happy if I manage 11. Though week did help. Lack of sleep during the bus journey as well.

Thank you. I have to admit that I didn't have my drivers license yet.

So? You're European.

Now you confuse me. I thought we had more or less the strictest rules if it comes to driving..

Uhuh... you do. You're also far less likely to obtain a licencse at all, since public transit it so much more readily available and reliable.

I do not think there is a relation between those two actually. It is true that in big parts we can easily depend on public transport. But even in some remote areas of this tiny country it isn't fun. I can cycle to work faster than by bus or train. Don't even think of public transport if you happen to live in a rural area in France or England.

I know... I remember. But you can generally get to someplace reasonably close, at least bicycle distance, where the weather is likely to be accomodating for bicycles. Here, if you lived in Cochrane, Ontario, for example, you could get to Timmins on a bus about once a day, but then you'd have more than 100km to go, and in the winter even the healthiest person couldn't make that trip.

Very true. It is a world of difference. I've travelled through Australia (and parts of the states) so I know about distances. Visiting a neighbour can be a two hour drive. A farm with the size of Belgium. A dirt track as a major road between two places, hundreds of km's apart. I imagine Canada to be similar. I should travel it someday. It has one disadvantage: it is so civilised and easy to get to, other countries push in. I guess I will travel your country by the time I'm retired.

Obviously I will. Shall we set a date: I'm planning on leaving on may 18, 2037. This means I'll arrive in Toronto, how far is it from there?

:D No? What's the matter with you, Gerbie? How are we ever going to achieve world domination like this?

Re:

If we operate from two different countries, we can achieve a lot. If we do that from one place, we'd be just another Lj-couple, people wouldn't take us seriously. We have to stay low profile and continue to expand our power to the world around us. By the time these two worlds meet, we should look at how to conquer the rest of the world (if that's worth looking at at all).
