May. 22nd, 2002 12:09 amI was well impressed tonight by Margo Vliegenthart. She was the staatsecretaris (under-minister) in the recent government. After the huge defeat of her party in last weeks elections, she decided to retire. Apart from that she divorced recently. All that together and still she made an appearance in the late night talk show BVD tonight.
She was emotional as very few politicans are. This was real, not playing for sentiment, as one of the other guests tried. She was herself, she has made some extremely difficult decisions in her life and now hasn't got anything, apart from trying to sort her life out. Great courage!
I just love our television. A show like this on prime time television, even on a commercial channel. Where else in the world one could watch a show like this?
