The Netherlands won their quarterfinal match against Russia without many problems. Two mistakes from the Russian leftfielder (one simple catch he missed and a throwing error) helped them to a 4-0 lead after the first. It is difficult to come back as the underdog then. The Russians didn't, they had 4 hits over the whole match. Final score: 8-0

Having reached the last four means the Dutch have qualified for the OQT next week, but also for the World Championships in two years time. Surprise opponent in the semi's will be Sweden who managed to upset the other big favorite Italy.

The killer of politician Pim Fortuyn again got sentenced to 18 years, even the appeal at a higher court came to the same length.

Again several politicians have given their opinion, stating that they considered 18 years short, it should have been life. Since when are politicians capable of judging a judge? I think this should be enough for now. Accept that two courts have spoken, they agreed, that's it. Final.
