Last night my computer screen suddenly went black. Somehow I had the idea that the computer was overheated. I can imagine that happening when you leave the computer working for a week (which I did from monday to sunday morning), but not after it has been switched of the whole day.

See what'll happen tonight when I get home.

It could just be that the monitor connection has got degraded somehow -- possibly from extended use, as you say. But it's most likely just a problem with the monitor, not the PC itself, so not too worrying.

Nope. Thanx for your concern, but the monitor is working perfect. I am using it this very moment, but I do have the impression that the cooler isn't working. So I won't be using this machine long and see if I can repair it. Can't be dealing with a computer that switches itself of every now and then.
