Hmmm, watching people ride bikes..only slightly more exciting then watching people hit small balls in the general direction of small holes, walking, hitting balls again, walking, hitting balls again..whispering commentators. boys boys boys.
Small difference. While golf is for those who can't play with marbles anymore because of their inability to bend over, cycling is for real men who today have to cycle 230 km, finding 5 mountains on their way. Watching it is fascinating.
One thing we might agree. Men will remain boys if they can.
American coverage of the tour bugs me. All I hear is "Lance Armstrong is in second place." That's it. No idea how much longer they have to go, or even who is in first. It's dumb.
The official tourwebsite (http://letour.fr) is really good, has an English section - though the French section is more accurate and faster - which updates almost every minute and also has pictures and all standings.
In short: the race last three weeks, Armstrong was and is still in second, but remains the main favourite. Nobody can imagine anyone else winning, yet he still has to get through the next two weeks, which include 5 mountain stages and 2 time trials.
