I bought two children's books in a library sale, just for fun as something to read. Both of them are about sports, which I like to read about.

45. Go for goal! Soccer stories - various authors

Five stories about Football, the game that gets called soccer in some countries in this world, though England is not one of them, so why the title is like this I don't know. Five stories written by five different authors, with four of them called Alan, are Alan's more prone to write football stories than people eho are not called Alan?

All of them are the typical children's stories, fun to read, not much depth. With one exception. Baggy Shorts is a classic. It's one of the best stories I have read about football, including all adult books and specialist books on the subject and believe me, I have read dozens on my favorite sport. Baggy Shorts is a boy who appears out of nowhere to become the goalie for the underdog team losing the cupfinal. The result is obvious, the plot isn't.

46. Matt Christopher - Baseball turnaround

What football is for most kids in the world, is baseball for most American kids. Their favorite passtime. This book is about a boy who ends up having to do community service for a crime he didn't do. But he is allowed to help coach a kids team, the start of a whole new life for him. Not really a good book I have to say, once the author must have miscounted the score as well, as our hero had scored more RBI than there were in the final score of that particular match (I like nitpicking over those useless details in sportsbooks), but still went through to find out how the happy end would turn out.
