Ciudad del Este, Paraguay. Just across the river from Foz de Iguazu in Brasil, only a small busdrive away from Puerto Iguaze, Argentina. Both countries are better off then Paraguay. So buying stuff in a poor country is always a good idea, according to most locals. The border crossing resembles a flow of refugees. Ciudad del Este is completely covered with a huge market place, ambulant salesmen inbetween the stalls. The few 'normal shops' sell electronics. So on their way back all shoppers have to find a way to take everything home. Rich enough to buy computers, stereo's and DVD-players, but not enough to have their own transport. So you have to take some form of public transport. I like the mototaxi's.
